Brian started racing bikes at a young age. As a kid he always wanted to be the fastest around the block in the neighborhood! As a teenager he found his passion for mountain biking when he discovered the Potowatami Trail in Pinckney, MI thanks to his dad and his neighbors.
The dream of riding his bike around the country on all the best trails turned into a reality when he was selected as a member of the Rock Shox Jr Devo team at 18 years old. Later that season Brian raced in Cairns Australia as a member of the 1996 US World Championship Team.
With hard work and dedication Brian started racing as a Professinoal in 1999 after moving to Tucson, AZ to train and race with coach Klement Capliar and 3 riders from The Czech Republic and Slovakia.
After many successful years of racing the Norba circuit Brian moved back to the Midwest with his wife Andrea in 2003 where they currently reside in Sheboygan WI. His focus turned from the national racing calendar to the Triple Crown of Midwest mountain biking; Ore To Shore, Chequamegon, and The Iceman. In 2004 Brian successfully won all 3 races! He is the only one to do so!
In 2007 the itch to travel was alive again and this time it was cyclocross that was calling his name. In 2008 Brian was selected to go represent the US at EuroCross Camp and go to battle in the thick muds of Belgium! With a very successful campaign Brian was then selected to represent the US at the CX World Championships in Hoogerheide, Netherlands in Jan of 2009!
Brian returned to Belgium for two more campaigns in 2009 and 2010. Now Brian is balancing Mountain Biking, Cyclocross, and his coaching business with Momentum Endurance.
If you are out there racing you’ll be sure to bump into him…and don’t forget to say HI!
